When it comes to packaging, the Capri-Sonne pouch is a real lightweight champion:
It weighs a grand total of 4.05g, including its straw. That means it's lighter than a normal sheet of A4-sized paper, which weighs 4.99g.
The pouch foil is made of synthetics and aluminum so that it still meets all of the product-safety and shelf-stability standards despite the low amount of material it uses. The synthetic material gives it the necessary stability and proper hygiene, and the aluminum protects the sensitive contents of the pouch from oxygen and light.
At 8 micrometers, the aluminum layer is so thin that it would take a stack of 125 sheets to create a thickness of one millimeter. If disposed of correctly, the pouch can be broken down into each of its components and recycled.
The pouch is quite stable even though it is so thin. It doesn't break when it's dropped and can be put in the freezer without bursting. That means you can also enjoy Capri-Sonne as a delicious frozen treat.
