Have a blast while you splash

More and more children are finishing elementary school without knowing how to swim. As a result, Capri-Sonne decided to help correct this situation.

With the help of the Baden-Württemberg state ministry of education, youth affairs and sports, the University of Heidelberg and the North Rhine-Westphalia swimming association, Capri-Sonne created a movie and a brochure about teaching kids to swim at elementary schools and in swim clubs.

The movie is entitled "Have a blast while you splash – learn how to swim!“ and is full of tips and tricks about getting used to the water, becoming confident in the water, and learning the front crawl and breast stroke, including instructions and exercises.

Beyond that, Capri-Sonne has also created badges — the gold, silver and bronze dolphin — for kids who have not yet reached the "sea horse" level, which helps motivate even younger kids to learn how to swim.

You can find further information and more ideas at the website www.schwimmoffensive.de (German website).

The brochure named "Bewegung und Spaß im Nass" (German only) is available from the state ministry of education, youth affairs and sports in Stuttgart for a fee of €9.20. To order by fax: 07 11 - 2 79 27 95.
