Strong kids are fair

Violence is becoming more and more of a topic at elementary schools, sadly enough.
In 2006, this inspired Capri Sonne to work in close cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg state ministry of education, youth affairs and sports to launch the project "Strong kids are fair" to combat violence at elementary schools. The project was supported and given academic guidance by the elementary education section of the Teaching College in Heidelberg.
The goal is to acquaint students with the topics of respect, tolerance and dealing with aggression and to strengthen their social skills. The children are to become aware of how violence starts and how it plays out in everyday life at school. Capri Sonne offers teaching materials in germany on the topic to help explain how to avoid conflicts. The material is suited for grades 1 to 4 and can be used in classes that cover subjects like society, nature and culture.
The pilot project was held in the 2005/06 school year in the region around Karlsruhe, Pforzheim and Offenburg in southwestern Germany. In 2006/07, all of the elementary schools in Baden-Württemberg received teaching material for "Strong kids are fair." Currently there are plans to expand the project to a national level.
